Jasjit Singh Gill (born December 3, 1970), better known as Jimmy Sheirgill, is an Indian actor and filmmaker who works in Hindi and Punjabi films.

He changed the spelling of his surname "Shergill" to Sheirgill because the name Jimmy Shergill was already used on social media.

He moved to Punjab, his ancestor, in 1985 after studying for several years at St. Francis College in Lucknow. He studied at the Punjab Public School in Nava and Bikram College at the Punjabi University in Patiala. He holds a graduation degree from Post Graduate Government College-11, Chandigarh, and Panjab University.

Jimmy Sheirgill was born in the Jat family in the village of Deokahia in Sardarnagar, Gorakhpur region, Uttar Pradesh.

He went to Mumbai after convincing his cousin to try his luck in the film industry. There he attended Roshan Taneja's acting class.
